The Montgomery Blair Athletics Association is a volunteer 501 (c) (3) organization* that promotes and supports Blair athletics. The MBAA works in conjunction with the Athletic Director, school administration, and teams in coaches in order to support Blair Athletics. We aim to involve students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community to support all of Blair Athletics. Montgomery Blair has over 1,000 student athletes and 45 teams across 27 sports. Montgomery Blair has one athletic booster club for all sports.
What we do
The MBAA provides a revenue source for athletics and helps to support program goals and visions, improve athletic facilities, strengthen teams, and support student-athletes. The booster club raises funds throughout the year through managing and staffing concessions, membership, apparel sales, and our spring mulch sale. We work with our Athletic Director, Rita Boule, to identify funding needs and wants for each of our teams with the goal of supporting our student athletes.
We support Blair Athletics by providing supplies, services, and equipment to supplement MCPS funds. We can fund training equipment, professional development for our coaches, uniform upgrades, upgrades to our facilities, student-athlete awards and celebrations, etc. Some of our recent investments include:
Funding priorities are discussed at the meetings with our Athletic Director, Rita Boule, and are also sometimes identified through the team representatives.
When we meet
We have meetings in person with virtual as an option once a month. Check the booster calendar and mark the dates.
What we need (you!).
Concessions. Concessions at the games and events is a large part of Boosters. We support the events, athletes, and fans though out the year. Concessions needs a food supplier who picks up the order (prepackaged!) at Costco before big events. Concessions also needs a stand coordinator who works with the AD to schedule the events and level of coverage. Most events have designated teams to work the events.
Fundraising. A big part of fundraising is the Mulch Sale – much loved and appreciated by the community! The Mulch Sale is run primarily by the football team and requires coordination with Boosters. Other fundraising opportunities are available throughout the year.
Blair Varsity Banquet. The Blair Varsity Banquet will be held for all varsity athletes in May. Boosters hosts this banquet for the athletes – we need people to plan the even with the AD and decorate.

- Timer and tent for the track team,
- Stadium scoreboard
- Wrestling mats for the wrestling team.

- Trophy cases located in the front hallways
- Portable Field Scorers Table
- Soccer and Field Hockey Goals
- Refinishing of Dance Floor
